Ashtanga Yoga is a system of Yoga popularized in modern times by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. The name Ashtanga Yoga means “8 limbs” in Sanskrit. The practice is a dynamic method of sequenced postures linked with breath and concentration techniques that aim to give practical experience of the 8-limbed method.
This Ashtanga flow class an active and energetic form of yoga that generates internal body heat, induces sweat and rids the practitioner of toxins in the body. It will work your stamina and balance as much as your strength and flexibility. You will learn the traditional yoga poses of the Ashtanga series that is composed of standing and seated postures. Each pose will be held for 5 breaths, which allows for correcting alignment and deepening of the pose.
